For years now Sasha Banks has been one of the top stars in the WWE women’s division, but she hasn’t appeared on WWE programming in some time as Banks and Naomi both walked out of Monday Night Raw in May of 2022.
In the months that followed there were a lot of questions regarding Sasha’s status with WWE, but those questions were answered on Wednesday when Sasha debuted at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 under the name Mercedes Mone.
It’s been confirmed that Mercedes Mone will be challenging Kairi for the IWGP Women’s Championship at Battle in the Valley next month and today WWE confirmed the departure of Sasha Banks when he profile was moved to the alumni section of WWE.com. There have been a lot of questions regarding Naomi’s status as well, but it’s worth noting that Naomi’s profile has not been moved to the alumni section.
Sasha Banks is expected to wrestle in NJPW and Stardom, but WWE officials don’t believe that she will be competing in AEW and you can get more on that here.
