CM Punk has been a very hot topic as of late thanks to his trial with WWE Dr. Chris Amann and his fight with Mike Jackson at UFC 225 on Saturday.
In the end Punk won his trial, but he did not win his fight against Mike Jackson and he’s currently 0-2 in his UFC career.
Ironically enough, the night after Punk lost to Mike Jackson, current Universal Champion Brock Lesnar tied Punk’s historic 434 day WWE Championship reign, and he went on to break it the next day.
Brock Lesnar’s Universal Title reign is now one of the longest singles title reigns of the last decade, and WWE put together an interesting infographic looking at the stats.
As of this writing, Lesnar has been Universal Champion for 438 days. Pete Dunne is also creeping up on CM Punk’s record with 390 days as United Kingdom Champion.
Punk’s 434 day reign was a pretty big deal at the time, but with Brock Lesnar not expected to defend his title before SummerSlam, it looks like Lesnar’s reign could potentially extend far beyond 438 days.
