Have WWE Accidentally Leaked The Next Smackdown General Manager?

It’s a saga that has been going on for the past few weeks, but ever since WWE announced that The Brand Split would be returning, many fans have begun speculating about who would return to the company to take the vacant General Manager slots.

It was finally announced on Raw this week that Stephanie McMahon would take charge of Monday night Raw and Shane McMahon would be the commissioner of Smackdown when it goes live next Tuesday night.

Vince McMahon then announced that both McMahon siblings would be forced to name General Managers for their brands next week, which has once again added to a lot of internet speculation, that has been helped by WWE itself.

WWE may have accidentally added fuel to much of the speculation when their WWE app released the write up from WWE Raw last night and it had the heading ‘The YES Movement takes over Smackdown live.’

The heading was quickly removed but not before many fans took screenshots and shared them on social networking sites. Many suggest that this could have been WWE’s reaction to Shane being given the reins of the brand, which doesn’t explain why it was removed so quickly.

If this wasn’t an accident then WWE would have left it as it was and allowed fans to form their own opinions, whereas now the company have just added to the debate and have now allowed many fans to think that Daniel Bryan will be the one to step into the vacant position on the Smackdown brand.

This would be an incredible move by WWE to give Daniel Bryan an opportunity to still be a part of the company that he adores without actually having to wrestle and put his health at risk. It would also be fantastic if rumours are to be believed and Triple H is made the General Manager of Raw.

Vince made it very clear that both rosters are to be in competition now in every way possible and to rehash the famous feud from 2014 between Triple H and Daniel Bryan on a management level would be a fantastic move.

Daniel Bryan is currently helping to host the Cruiserweight Classic that airs on the Network on Wednesday night, fans will then be able to see how much talent Bryan really does possess because he could bring something unique to Smackdown.

Smackdown will need some big stars in the draft next week if they have any hope of competing with the juggernaut that Raw has become. With Shane at the helm it shouldn’t be a hard task but putting Daniel Bryan in a management role would also be a step in the right direction.

There have also been a lot of rumours regarding the return of many WWE legends from the past few decades with names like Kurt Angle, Goldberg, Jeff Hardy, Jimmy Wang Yang and Curt Hawkins amongst the ones mentioned recently.

Since the announcement of the draft many fans have been anticipating next weeks events for a very long time, it is an incredibly exciting time for many of the WWE Universe and WWE making slight mistakes like this just adds to the illusion.

As already stated, it is unknown whether or not this was an accident or if WWE are just trying to wet fans appetites by once again giving them what they want. The Shield triple threat at Battleground and the WWE Championship match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose next week on Raw are examples of the fact that WWE are now listening to the fans and finally giving them what they want.

This may not be the best idea, as shown from the Daniel Bryan ‘Yes Movement’ phase, when the WWE Universe gets what they want once they expect it to happen all the time, but these small changes could be a good sign for WWE going forward.

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon on Smackdown whilst the power couple of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon competing against them on Raw could make for great television. Of course being McMahon’s neither sibling will want to lose this competition so this will now add an extra edge to proceedings and definitely make the shows much more watchable.
