Backstage this week on SmackDown, R-Truth told Carmella he’s been trying to get in touch with Shane McMahon, then Shane called Carmella’s phone.
Shane told R-Truth that he had to defend his 24/7 Title against Elias in a Lumberjack Match, and he added the stipulation that no one else could pin the champion except his opponent for the duration of the match.
Elias quickly pinned Truth to win the belt. After the match the lumberjacks got in the ring, but Elias rolled out and crawled under the ring. R-Truth followed him.
After a few seconds the bell rang, and R-Truth crawled out from under the ring with the belt and a ref declared him the new champion.
Truth then ran off with the belt through the crowd.
