Last month Tony Khan announced that CM Punk’s AEW contract had been terminated following a backstage altercation that took place at the All Out pay-per-view. As soon as the announcement was made fans immediately started talking about the possibility of CM Punk returning to WWE, but it’s been reported that the company is not interested in bringing him back at this point in time.
Although it seems Punk’s options may be limited if he wants to return to wrestling, he does have options. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently noted on Twitter that Impact Wrestling would welcome CM Punk.
“I know a lot of people scoff at it, but yeah IMPACT would welcome CM Punk. Beyond obvious reasons, people said he was really great backstage when he visited”
Ibou of WrestlePurists later responded to the tweet claiming that Impact has reached out to CM Punk and made him an offer.
Whether or not CM Punk has any interest in signing with Impact Wrestling is unknown, but it looks like the door is potentially open for him to join the company.
