This summer some of the most talented women in the professional wrestling industry will be competing in the first ever Mae Young Classic tournament, and now another name has been confirmed for the tournament.
Indian wrestler Kavita Dalal, aka Hard KD, recently spoke to The Times of India, and she told the site that she is honored to be a part of the tournament.
“I am honoured to be the first Indian woman to compete in WWE’s first ever women’s tournament. I hope to use this platform to inspire other Indian women with my performance and make India proud” said Kavita.
Kavita Dalal is a former weightlifter and a former student of The Great Khali and she continues to train in Continental Wrestling Entertainment which is owned by Khali. She participated in the WWE tryout earlier this year in Dubai, and WWE officials apparently liked what they saw from her.
“Kavita gave a strong performance at WWE’s 2017 Dubai tryout. She is an athletic and extremely strong woman who demonstrated a solid grasp of the fundamentals of sports entertainment, and a passion to improve that will serve her well in WWE’s upcoming Mae Young Classic tournament,” said Canyon Ceman, Vice President, WWE Talent Development.
WWE will be holding tapings for the Mae Young Classic on July 13th and 14th at Full Sail University.
