We love Jim Ross. He’s one of our favorite voices and minds in professional wrestling. He’s also been going through one of the toughest times in his life. His wife Jan died tragically in a Vespa accident recently, and we’ve been heartbroken for him ever since. Jim Ross shared this picture of him and his late wife to us while thanking fans for their support.
There was some doubt as to whether or not Jim Ross would be able to make his scheduled WrestleMania weekend appearances because he was grieving. Nobody would fault JR for this either. After all, he has gone through one of the hardest things anyone could imagine happening to them.
It is amazing Jim Ross is carrying on in his wife’s memory so soon after her passing. But, she loved WrestleMania. Also, he needs to be surrounded by people who love him right now more than ever. So WrestleMania weekend is the perfect place to accomplish both of those things for Good Ol’ JR. WrestleMania is a special time for any wrestling fan and for people like the Ross family it was evidently a huge part of their lives as well.
This Road To WrestleMania has been littered by a series of unfortunate events. But, through all the knee injuries, leaks, and controversy, the passing of Jan Ross is certainly the saddest.
Jim Ross recently took to his blog and wrote a heartfelt entry thanking fans for their support. He also shared a touching tribute to his late wife and what she meant to WWE during JR’s time in talent relations:
“Jan and I had memorable success together when I was managing WWE’s Talent Relations Department. We were a team in WWE. I was a “coach” and Jan was the best coach’s wife ever. She loved the talents and their spouses, invited them into our home, cooked for them and even did some of their laundry that they would bring over. Some of the Attitude Era’s biggest stars were made to feel welcome in our home over the years thanks to my wife.”
We here at Still Real To Us still extend our deepest sympathy to Jim Ross, his family, and the entire professional wrestling community for this loss. Jan meant a lot to numerous people who are part of our everyday conversations. It’s amazing and deeply motivating that Jim Ross is finding the strength to carry on.
Jim Ross should be an inspiration to anyone who ever finds themselves experiencing a similar awful situation in their life. He will certainly be on our minds for weeks to come due to the gravity of it all. But, JR will be making his appearances in Orlando and can’t wait to see everyone there because he needs a laugh right now too. After all, Jim Ross will be at WrestleMania because he knows Jan would have wanted it that way.
