Paige had quite the in-ring career, but it appears that her in-ring career has come to an end. The former WWE Divas Champion announced her retirement on Raw a few weeks ago, but she quickly found a new role with WWE.
The next night Shane McMahon confirmed that Paige would be the new General Manager on SmackDown Live, and she’s been running the show ever since.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that part of the reason why Paige is remaining visible on WWE programming even though she can’t wrestle anymore is due to the release of “Fighting With My Family” the movie tells the story of Paige’s family, and is produced by Dwayne Johnson.
Originally the movie was set to be released in September of this year, but the release date was recently pushed back to March 1, 2019.
“Fighting With My Family” will star Florence Pugh as Paige, and the film features names such as Nick Frost and Lena Headey. The Rock will be making an appearance in the movie, and wrestling fans will see other familiar Superstars such as Jake “The Snake” Roberts who will be played by Vince Vaughn, and AJ Lee who will be played by Thea Trinidad.
