This week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw featured a big announcement when it was revealed that the King of the Ring tournament will be returning.
The tournament is set to kick off next Monday on Raw, and it will continue to be part of Raw and SmackDown Live over the next few weeks.
It’s believed that the finals of the tournament are set to take place at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view on Sunday, September 15.
Dave Meltzer was asked on Wrestling Observer Radio if USA Network suggested bringing King of the Ring back in an attempt to boost ratings, and he said that he didn’t know, but the KOTR tournament is being done to push a specific wrestler.
However, it’s not known at this time which wrestler WWE will be pushing in the tournament.
The following competitors have been confirmed for King of the Ring:
Raw

– Cedric Alexander
– Samoa Joe
– Drew McIntyre
– Baron Corbin
– Sami Zayn
– Cesaro
SmackDown LIVE
