Why WWE Is Adding Charlotte Flair To The WrestleMania 35 Main Event

On Sunday night, Becky Lynch won the women’s Royal Rumble, and then declared on Monday that she will be challenging Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35.

As of right now the match is still a singles match, but it’s believed that Charlotte Flair will be added to the bout, and Charlotte’s addition was teased on SmackDown Live this week.

Some fans have made it clear that they don’t want Charlotte to be added to the match, but it sounds like WWE has their reasons for wanting to make it a triple threat.

Dave Meltzer discussed the match on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he noted that WWE officials want Charlotte Flair in the same spotlight with Becky Lynch, because they want her to get the publicity that comes along with the first women’s main event at WrestleMania.

The three way is part of WWE’s long term planning for the future, and the company wants to add Charlotte because of the historical importance of the match.

It’s not clear at this point how Charlotte will be added to the match, but it’s been speculated that she could end up defeating Becky at an upcoming pay-per-view before WrestleMania.

Do you think adding Charlotte to the match is a good idea? Sound off in the comments below.
