Raw and SmackDown Live went head to head once again at Survivor Series this year, and Raw dominated the blue brand. By the time it was all said and done, the commentators were telling the fans that Raw walked away with a “clean sweep” but it wasn’t nearly as clean as they were trying to make it out to be.
Team SmackDown actually picked up a win during the tag team elimination match on the kickoff show, and they were the only team that picked up a win for the blue brand.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that plans called for Raw to win every match, but something got mixed up and somehow Team SmackDown accidentally got booked to win the kickoff show match.
WWE then played it off by only acknowledging victories that took place on the main card, and New Day member Xavier Woods made it clear via Twitter that he didn’t appreciate the snub.
