Why WWE Has A Strict Policy Against Intergender Matches

Intergender wrestling is considered to be controversial for obvious reasons, but over the last few years the concept has seen somewhat of a resurgence on the independent scene.

However, intergender matches are rarely featured in WWE, and the reason why has more to with just how the concept is perceived by the general public.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that one of the reasons why WWE has a strict policy against men getting physical with women is because the company made a deal with Mattel years ago and agreed that they would never show men overpowering women.

Triple H recently talked about why there aren’t more intergender matches in WWE, and he shared his thoughts on why he’s not a big fan of the concept.

“Women WWE Superstars don’t need a man to make them successful in the ring. They don’t need a man to step in the ring with them to make them have a spectacular match. They don’t need a man in the ring with them, they need each other, they need the opportunity, they need the platform, and they need to be set free to do what they need to do.”
