Why WWE Didn’t Reveal The Special Referee For Universal Title Match At Stomping Grounds

The WWE Stomping Grounds pay-per-view is set to air live on Sunday, and Seth Rollins will be defending his Universal Title against Baron Corbin at the event.

WWE was advertising that a special guest referee would be revealed for the match on Raw this week, but by the time Raw came to a close nothing solid was revealed regarding plans for the ref.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the referee probably won’t be revealed tonight on SmackDown, and the idea is that fans aren’t supposed to know who the special guest referee is heading into the pay-per-view.

Meltzer also speculated that WWE could be using the mystery surrounding the referee to draw fans into the show.

Who do you think the special guest referee will be? Sound off in the comments below.
