Why WWE Changed The Main Event For Money In The Bank

The annual Money in the Bank pay-per-view has come and gone, and one briefcase winner has already cashed in their title shot.

Alexa Bliss won the women’s Money in the Bank match, and she later destroyed Ronda Rousey with the briefcase before setting her sights on Nia Jax and taking her title.

Braun Strowman then closed out the show by winning the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that original plans for the event called for Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax, with the Alexa Bliss cash in, to be the main event of the show.

However, plans were changed because WWE wanted the pay-per-view to have a happy ending which is why the end of the show featured Braun winning the briefcase.

It’s also being reported that Nia’s match with Ronda Rousey was rehearsed over the weekend and completely laid out ahead of time. Fit Finlay was the one who put the match together.

The women’s Money in the Bank match was also put together by Fit Finlay and Tyson Kidd, and the match was rehearsed over the weekend as well.
