Why WWE Booked Randy Orton vs. Big Show For Raw Instead Of Extreme Rules

Randy Orton has spent a great deal of time feuding with legends in 2020, and recently he’s been in a feud with the Big Show.

Things are starting to get heated between Orton and Show, and WWE recently announced that they will face off on next week’s episode of Raw.

The timing of the match had some people scratching their heads as the Extreme Rules pay-per-view is set to air on the WWE Network on Sunday night.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE booked the match for Raw to try and help boost ratings. Raw’s ratings have been on the decline as of late, and this week’s episode only pulled in 1.56 million viewers, the lowest in the history of the show.

The idea is thought Randy Orton vs. Big Show likely won’t add any extra buys to the WWE Network, but it could help to improve ratings for Raw on Monday.
