It’s going to be a big weekend for wrestling fans as the WWE Payback premium live event is set to take place on Saturday night and several big title matches have been confirmed for the card. One belt that won’t be defended at Payback is the Intercontinental Championship as WWE recently confirmed that Gunther will defend his title against Chad Gable on next week’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
According to BWE, the Gunther vs. Chad Gable match for the Intercontinental Championship was booked for Raw instead of Payback because Triple H doesn’t want to overbook premium live events.
Chad Gable recently became the first man on the main roster to pick up a victory over Gunther in singles competition, but unfortunately for Gable he didn’t win the Intercontinental Championship because he defeated Gunther via count out.
