Fans were shocked when WWE announced that Bray Wyatt had been released back in July, and since then there’s been a lot of talk about why WWE released the former Universal Champion.

Fightful Select reports that over the summer WWE creative had been told Wyatt was cleared before his release, and that he attended a few episodes of Raw following his match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 37.

There was said to have been major frustration with the burned Fiend suit with Wyatt reportedly saying that the suit was too heavy, and that it would look bad, so the idea was nixed.

It’s also being reported that plans for the WrestleMania match were changed two days before the show, and that neither Orton nor Wyatt were happy with the creative direction for their match. There was never an endgame for the storyline, but original plans called for Orton to take time off after Mania.

According to the report numerous people claimed that Wyatt was outspoken when it came to bad creative, and that Vince McMahon “just didn’t like him” because of that. Almost no one believed that he was released due to budget cuts as Bray Wyatt was one of the biggest merchandise sellers in the company.
