Why Shinsuke Nakamura Didn’t Win The WWE Championship At Money In The Bank

Last year at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, WWE teased a possible match between AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura, and fans have seen the two stars face off several times in 2018.

On Sunday they faced off once again in a Last Man Standing match at Money in the Bank, and Styles managed to retain his title by defeating Nakamura.

The next day it was announced that AJ will be the Superstar on the cover of WWE 2K19.

It was noted on Wrestling Observer Live that AJ Styles won the match and retained because WWE wanted Styles to be the champion when the WWE 2K19 cover was announced.

WWE 2K19 will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 9th, and you can check out the full press conference featuring AJ Styles below.
