Last week on SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan announced that he has been cleared to return to the ring, and then he fired Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Zayn and Owens responded by beating down the SmackDown General Manager, and this week Bryan challenged them to a match at WrestleMania 34.
The former WWE Champion announced that he will team up with Shane McMahon to take on Owens and Zayn at Mania, and if Zayn and Owens pick up the victory they can have their jobs back.
But until then Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens are still fired, and they’re going all out to sell the storyline. Kevin Owens recently changed his Twitter name to Kevin Steen, and Sami Zayn has been selling El Generico merchandise.
According to the New Age Insiders, WWE is allowing Sami Zayn to sell El Generico merchandise through Pro Wrestling Tees because he doesn’t make a lot of money from merchandise, and makes most of his money working live events.
Since he’s been off live events due to the storyline, WWE is reportedly allowing him to bring back the El Generico gimmick and sell merchandise for a limited time.
