It’s been tough sledding as of late for Roman Reigns. Not in the squared circle but with his current “tweener” status. It seems the brass behind the curtain really wants to push Reigns as the next top babyface to eventually bring WWE into the future. The problem with that, is it seems most fans don’t like the feeling of being force fed who to like.
Most signs point to Reigns getting the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania Play Button 31. The fans who already won’t give Reigns a chance to shine will not take to this outcome kindly. A way to appease just about everybody would be to have Seth Rollins cash in his Money In The Bank contract before the main event of WM even comes to an end.
If Rollins was to come down and cash in on Brock in the middle of a hard hitting contest between the Beast and Reigns, it would help set up a lengthy feud between the former Shield brethren for the next few months (assuming Brock is leaving after WM). Roman could play the “I got screwed” card while Rollins would benefit from the cheap win to further his dominance as the top heel.
Roman Reigns would benefit from being in the ring with Seth Rollins because the Architect is the type of guy that could make The Great Khali look like a million bucks. Reigns would also be able to lose to Rollins in a couple of main events without hurting his credibility. You could have a few unclean finishes with J & J Security or The Authority interfering.
If you want Reigns to be the top babyface, make him earn it. Make the fans want to root for the powerhouse. Roman working with the company’s top heel and taking a few cheap losses until he eventually overcomes the odds would help get the majority of the fans support behind him.
Believe that.
