Why Paul Heyman Was Backstage At WWE Raw This Week

It’s been a while since fans have seen Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman on WWE programming, but Heyman was backstage at Raw this week in Boston.

Earlier this week Fightful posted a report noting that they obtained a copy of the production script for Raw this week, and Heyman was listed as a “Road” writer, who contributed to multiple segments on the show.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Heyman is not part of the creative team, but he was there to oversee aspects of the segments involving Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley, as they will eventually tie in to Brock Lesnar’s next program.

Heyman was also involved with Goldberg during his feud with Brock Lesnar, and he reportedly helped every Goldberg promo and interview.

It’s also worth noting that Lashley and Heyman were close during Bobby Lashley’s time in WWE developmental.

On Sunday night, Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns will collide in a one on one match at Extreme Rules.
