Kofi Kingston has been on quite a roll as of late, and it was recently announced that Kofi would be challenging Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at Fastlane.
However, when Kofi made his way to the ring on Tuesday night to sign the contract for the match, Vince McMahon interrupted the segment and announced that Kevin Owens will be replacing Kofi at Fastlane.
Dave Meltzer speculated on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is trying to hold off on the Kofi vs. Bryan match until WrestleMania. The idea is to make people want the match more and keep Kofi hot by having Vince McMahon pull him from the WWE Title match at Fastlane.
There are still several weeks to go until WrestleMania 35, so it will be interesting to see how it all comes together, but it appears that WWE could be setting Kofi Kingston up for a huge match on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
