Kenny Omega is the current IWGP Heavyweight Champion, but soon he will have to defend his title when he steps into the ring with Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 13 on January 4.
The title bout will undoubtedly be one of the biggest of both Omega and Tanahashi’s respective careers, but Kenny Omega has stayed mostly quiet on the road to Wrestle Kingdom.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Kenny Omega has done less media ahead of Wrestle Kingdom this year because he didn’t feel comfortable since most of the questions would likely be about his future in 2019, and that Omega felt whatever he said would be taken out of context.
With Kenny Omega’s contract set to expire next month it will be very interesting to see how the IWGP Heavyweight Championship match plays out in the Tokyo Dome.
