One of professional wrestling’s biggest power couples is no more as John Cena and Nikki Bella recently confirmed that after six years they’ve decided to break up.

Their engagement has been called off, and People is reporting that Cena got cold feet. According to a source, Nikki Bella is said to “heartbroken” over the status of their relationship. The couple was reportedly only weeks away from their May 5th wedding which was planned to take place in Mexico.

“She never gave him an ultimatum. He talked a really good game about having changed, about having his priorities straight, about knowing what’s important, and that it was her. But as the day got closer, it was like he just went back to who he’s always been — which is someone who puts himself first, always,” the insider says. “He’s an incredibly dedicated, driven, ambitious guy. And for the longest time he said he didn’t think he had room in his life for a spouse or kids. It seems like in the end that was still the truth.”

Fans who have watched John Cena and Nikki Bella’s relationship play out on shows like Total Divas and Total Bellas know that John was opposed to the idea of getting married again, but he ultimately changed his mind and proposed to Nikki at WrestleMania 33.

The insider also claims that Bella will be “fine” but referred to Cena as the “ultimate heel” and said that, “he never should’ve proposed, let alone in front of millions of people.”
