The last few months have been tumultuous for Drew McIntyre to say the least. The Scottish Warrior failed to defeat Cody Rhodes at WrestlePalooza, and Cody picked up another victory over McIntyre at Saturday Night’s Main Event earlier this month.

During last week’s episode of SmackDown, Cody said that he’s moving on from Drew McIntyre, but Drew made it clear that he’s not done with The American Nightmare. Cody faced off against Aleister Black in the main event and Drew McIntyre interrupted the match when he attacked the referee then set his sights on Cody Rhodes. Shortly after Nick Aldis made his way out into the arena to announce that Drew McIntyre has been suspended.

On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that McIntyre was written off TV because he’s going to be filming a movie. Alvarez also added that McIntyre is expected to be “gone for a while.”

Deadline reported back in September that Drew McIntyre had landed a major role starring opposite Henry Cavill as his brother Angus MacLeod in the upcoming Highlander film. The report noted that production for the film was expected to begin in early 2026. It’s not clear at this point in time if Drew was written off due to the Highlander film, or if he’s set to work on another project as well.

McIntyre made his acting debut last year in The Killer’s Game which also starred former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Dave Bautista. Stay tuned for more updates on Drew McIntyre’s status as they become available.
