Daniel Bryan finally made his return to the ring at WrestleMania 34, and he picked up a big win when he teamed up with Shane McMahon to defeat Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
This week on SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan competed in a triple threat match against Samoa Joe and Big Cass with a spot in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match on the line.
Unfortunately for Bryan, he didn’t advance to the Money in the Bank match, because he passed out after Samoa Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Daniel Bryan isn’t part of the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match because ladder matches increase the chances of getting a neck injury or a concussion.
During a recent appearance on Talk Is Jericho, Daniel Bryan noted that he gets checked out after every match.
“After every match now I get checked. Not even thanking my opponents, after WrestleMania, I walked to Gorilla. No thank you’s to anybody, just walked straight to the Doctor’s and then I get checked. They do basic neurological stuff, and we are revising that as we go because it is new to them too.”
At this point it’s unclear if Bryan will end up working a match at the pay-per-view, but it’s worth noting that his feud with Big Cass might not be over, as Cass attacked him after the main event on SmackDown Live this week.
