Last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was an interesting show as Alexa Bliss challenged Giulia for the WWE Women’s United States Championship, but her tag team partner Charlotte Flair was nowhere to be seen. Ahead of Alexa’s big title match she was shown backstage talking to Charlotte on the phone, and Alexa told The Queen to rest up.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Charlotte Flair missed SmackDown last week because she was legitimately sick. It’s being said that she was very ill this past week, and the illness led to a change in plans for television.
Charlotte Flair did return at the WWE live event on 1/15 when she teamed up with Alexa Bliss & Bayley to defeat the team of Roxanne Perez, Asuka and Kairi Sane.
As of this writing WWE is not currently advertising Charlotte Flair for this week’s episode of SmackDown on their official website, but Alexa Bliss is being advertised, so it will be interesting if either, or both of them appear on the show.
