A few weeks ago SmackDown made the jump to Friday nights on FOX, and Brock Lesnar won the WWE Championship once again when he defeated Kofi Kingston in a matter of seconds.
Last week the WWE Draft kicked off on SmackDown, and Lesnar was officially drafted to the blue brand.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brock Lesnar getting sent to SmackDown “had to happen” since FOX wanted Brock Lesnar or Ronda Rousey on the show as their big sports star.
Brock Lesnar’s move to SmackDown may have been decided weeks ago, as his WWE Championship win was said to be key to the move.
