A few weeks ago Cain Velasquez made his WWE debut on Friday Night SmackDown, and on Thursay he wrestled his first WWE match when he challenged Brock Lesnar for his championship at Crown Jewel.
The match didn’t last very long, as Cain and Brock brawled for a little while before Lesnar made Velasquez tap out to the Kimura lock.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter the idea was always for Cain and Brock to face off in a short match, but Cain’s knee was worse than expected.
The plan was for the match to a follow a Paul Heyman style match lay out of big moves, but it was changed to a match where nothing much happened due to Velasquez’s knee.
The belief is that Cain Velasquez needs surgery. His status for his upcoming match in Mexico City is unknown at this point.
