WWE released a number of wrestlers last week and many fans were surprised to see that Braun Strowman was among the names that got cut. Strowman was previously released from WWE back in 2021, but he later signed a new deal and returned to the company in 2022.

Dave Meltzer recently discussed the WWE releases on Wrestling Observer Radio, and it was noted that Braun Strowman’s high salary was one of the reasons why the Monster Among Men was let go.

“He is the one that, the salary was high. One person told me that they felt he was paid more than how they were using him I guess is the best way to put it, but salary played a part in this.”

Braun Strowman first signed with WWE in 2013 and he went on to make his main roster debut in 2015 when he joined The Wyatt Family. In the years that followed Strowman was regularly featured on WWE programming.

Throughout his first run with WWE, Braun Strowman managed to win numerous titles including the WWE Universal Championship, WWE Intercontinental Championship and Raw Tag Team Championship. He is also a former Money in the Bank winner, Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner, and he won the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble back in 2018.
