Why Becky Lynch Should Lose The SmackDown Women’s Championship At WWE TLC

Fans waited years for Becky Lynch to get her moment in the spotlight, and when the opportunity came she didn’t just step into the spotlight, she commanded it.

Lynch has been on a roll ever since she turned on Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam back in August, and she shows no signs of slowing down at this point.

Becky is set to defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Asuka & Charlotte Flair in the first ever women’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match on Sunday, and with the Road to WrestleMania quickly approaching, TLC might be the right time for Becky to drop the belt.

But wait, Becky Lynch is the hottest thing in professional wrestling right now, why would you book her to lose the title? Are you crazy?

Just hear me out.

As we all know, Becky Lynch was originally booked to face Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series, but after she suffered some poorly timed injuries (not that there’s ever a good time to be injured) at the hands of Nia Jax, Lynch had to be pulled from the show.

In a weird way the circumstances which caused Becky to be pulled may have been a blessing in disguise, as it’s rumored that Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey could now take place at WrestleMania 35.

Lynch vs. Rousey is a money match, and arguably the biggest match WWE could book for the women’s division. It’s also rumored that Rousey could end up main eventing the Show of Shows next year, and if that happens it only makes sense to give fans the match they’ve been waiting to see on the Grandest Stage of Them All.

However, Rousey is on Raw, and Lynch is on SmackDown, so how do we get there?

After TLC we’re moving on to the Royal Rumble, and as we all know the winner of the Royal Rumble gets to face whichever champion they choose.

A Royal Rumble win is the best way for Becky to switch brands, and she’s not going to enter the Rumble if she’s the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Which is why Sunday should be the end of her title reign, and the beginning of a new story for Becky Lynch.

If Becky Lynch is going to face Ronda Rousey at Mania, then she’s going to need to be on Raw and a Royal Rumble win is the best way to get her there.

The first ever women’s Royal Rumble was historic without a doubt, and at the time Asuka had a good amount of momentum when she won the match.

This time around no one has more momentum than Becky Lynch, and even though the women’s division is loaded with talent at the moment, no one would create a bigger moment by winning the Rumble than Becky Lynch.

The months leading up to Mania could be something special on Raw with Becky Lynch chasing after Ronda Rousey, and there’s little doubt that the two Superstars could create some compelling segments if given the chance.

It was recently reported that FOX officials want Ronda Rousey on SmackDown Live before the show moves to the network in October.

Once Mania comes and goes WWE could separate Rousey and Lynch once again by drafting Rousey to the blue brand, and Lynch could fill the hole left by Rousey on Monday nights.

If WWE is going to book Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch on the Grandest Stage of Them All, then the build needs to start sooner than later to make the match as big as possible.

Becky Lynch has done a great job carrying the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and she’s also proved that she has what it takes to carry the blue brand’s women’s division, but after Sunday it might be time for her to focus on a new goal.

Who do you want to see walk out of TLC with the belt on Sunday? Sound off in the comments below.
