Kurt Angle made his return to the ring on Sunday night at TLC, and he became and honorary member of The Shield for the night. Angle’s return has been a long time coming, and no one seems to be more excited about the fact that he was able wrestle on Sunday than the WWE Hall of Famer himself.
After the pay-per-view, Kurt Angle appeared on Raw talk, and Renee Young asked him how it felt to wrestle in a WWE ring for the first time in 11 years.
“It was great, I never thought it would feel this good. It’s been 11 years since the WWE Universe has seen me wrestle. I wasn’t expecting to do it last minute. This was such an honor to do it with The Shield, to be in that ring with The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro, Kane came back for this. It was a huge night for all of us, but most of all for me.”
Kurt Angle didn’t wear his trademark red, white and blue outfit on Sunday night. Instead he came out dressed all in black wearing The Shield gear, and Angle indicated that Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins asked him to do it.
“It was awesome. I didn’t mind doing this for a second. When the boys asked me to do it, it was like, ‘Sure, I’ll throw the red, white and blue away for the night.’ To be a part of The Shield, the most notorious group of wrestlers in the business ever, to be with those guys, one of the most popular factions ever in the history of the sport you obviously want to jump on it.”
