There was a lot of hype heading into this week’s episode of Raw as it was the first Raw of the year and the one year anniversary of the red brand’s debut on Netflix. Over the last few weeks it had been rumored that Chris Jericho could be returning during the show, but ultimately Jericho did not appear.
PWInsider is reporting that Chris Jericho was never slated for Raw and he is actually in Los Angeles this week. It’s also being reported that no on they spoke to expected Jericho to be at Raw this week.
Speculation regarding Jericho’s return kicked into high gear on Sunday when Adam Pearce posted a video running down the lineup for the show and asked, “Who can break down the walls and claim the gold?”
Despite the fact that Jericho didn’t appear on Raw there were multiple references to the former WWE Champion during the show as Kairi Sane used the Walls of Jericho during the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match, Liv Morgan used the Walls of Jericho during a commercial break, and Corey Graves also said “the learning tree” during the main event.
Chris Jericho has said little to nothing about his future plans over the last few months, but the Royal Rumble has also been rumored for a potential return, so it will be interesting to see how things play out in the weeks to come.
