For months now fans have been speculating about a potential WWE return for CM Punk and on Saturday night CM Punk made his first appearance on WWE programming in almost a decade when he returned at Survivor Series.
Following Survivor Series, Triple H was asked about TKO’s involvement when it came to CM Punk signing with WWE. The Game noted that very few people beyond him and Nick Khan knew about CM Punk’s return, and he indicated that people from TKO found out about the return as they were watching it happen.
Dave Meltzer discussed CM Punk’s return on Wrestling Observer Radio and he noted that he was told Triple H’s claim is true in regard to when TKO found out about Punk’s return.
“The deal came together about 10 days ago. [They] obviously kept it [completely] secret from almost everyone. Paul Levesque said that the TKO people found out watching the TV, which I thought was ridiculous until I asked around and I was told the exact same thing.”
WWE has confirmed that CM Punk will be appearing on Raw tonight and it’s also been confirmed that the first hour of Raw will be commercial free. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
