During night one of WrestleMania 40, The Rock & Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins which meant that Roman’s title match with Cody on Sunday would be contested under Bloodline rules.
The match featured a lot of interference as The Usos got involved, then Solo Sikoa got involved which prompted John Cena to make the save. The Rock then confronted John Cena and hit him with the Rock Bottom. After that Seth Rollins made his way down to the ring decked out in his Shield gear, but Roman Reigns took him out with a Superman Punch.
As The Rock was just about to attack Cody Rhodes the lights went out and The Undertaker appeared behind The Rock. Taker hit Rock with a chokeslam then the lights went out and The Undertaker was gone by the time they came back on again.
Following WrestleMania 40 footage from the crowd has surfaced online and it shows Undertaker jogging through the audience as he rushes backstage after interfering in the main event.
The following video clip of The Undertaker entering the ring after the lights went out has also been making the rounds on social media:
It’s safe to say that Cody vs. Roman II was one of the most anticipated matches in recent years and the surprise appearances certainly got fans talking. Ultimately Cody Rhodes did finish his story when he defeated Roman Reigns to become the new Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, so it will be interesting to see where things go from here.
