Last week AJ Styles put his career on the line when he faced off against Gunther at the Royal Rumble, and it was The Ring General who picked up the victory. After the match AJ Styles took his gloves off and then put them back on which led to a lot of speculation regarding whether or not he is really retired.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that sources in WWE believe that AJ Styles is not done wrestling in some capacity. However, there was no further clarification on The Phenomenal One’s future.
AJ Styles recently appeared on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon and he didn’t rule out a return to the ring while talking about why he put his gloves back on at the Royal Rumble.
“I don’t know. I don’t know. Never say never, right? That’s the saying. I think everybody’s allowed at least once to come out of retirement. I’m not saying that I’ll do it anytime soon. What if my son wrestles? The opportunity to tag with him once, you never know. So, there’ll be a time when the gloves never go back on. It may be now, but we’ll see.”
