2018 has been a year full of ups and downs for Rusev, but he’s ending it on a high note as he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura to win the United States Championship on SmackDown Live this week.
Rusev is now a three time WWE United States Champion, and he also celebrated his 34th birthday on Tuesday.
After his big victory Rusev celebrated with the fans, and he dedicated his win to his mother. The new champion then looked at the camera noted that she was in labor for 3 days before she gave birth to him on Christmas Day.
