CM Punk hasn’t appeared on AEW programming since September of 2022, but that doesn’t mean Punk hasn’t been making appearances at wrestling events. Last week the former AEW World Champion stopped by Monday Night Raw at the Allstate Arena, and he was also in attendance for the Impact Wrestling tapings in Chicago.
Fightful Select reported that CM Punk spoke with over a dozen talents at the Impact Wrestling tapings, and he had some kind words for some of the wrestlers there. It seems that Punk also crossed paths with former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis.
Mickie James talked a little bit about CM Punk’s interaction with Nick Aldis on Busted Open Radio, and she noted that Punk cracked a joke about how their wives are more popular.
“I heard Punk was there too, and he asked Nick, ‘Where’s the missus?'” James said. “And then [Nick] was like, ‘Oh, she’s at home.’ And [Punk] goes, ‘Yeah, you and me — the only people that people get more excited about seeing our wives more than us.'”
AEW has yet to make any official announcements regarding CM Punk’s return, but it’s been reported that he should be back soon as he’s expected to be the star of AEW’s rumored third show which is set to air on Saturdays. Stay tuned for updates.
