If you’re not a fan of Tyrus you should be. The former Brodus Clay is no longer the Funkasaurus and is now in Impact Wrestling enjoying a character more appropriate to his strengths.
But Tyrus, real name George Murdoch can also act. He’d have to have range to be able to perform the over-the-top role of Clay while he danced with the Funkadactyls. Fun fact: one of those Funkadactyls is the current SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Brodus Clay was one of those superstars who didn’t take off because creative never seemed to position him as a serious character. It is a shame when they do that to a character who could easily achieve greater heights. But he’s off to make Tyrus’ name larger than Brodus Clay’s ever was and he’s taking it mainstream.
The Greg Gutfeld Show on Fox News is a weekly comedy and politically minded show. It’s actually pretty funny but was even more hilarious recently when Tyrus made an amazing guest appearance. It’s not his first rodeo so Tyrus killed it.
In the sketch Tyrus played the roll of white house press secretary and fielded questions from the press in his own unique way. They used actual reactions from journalists and cut it with Tyrus’ responses to their questions.
Kudus to the Greg Gutfeld Show guys for editing a very cool segment. If you know any of them tell the Gutfeld Show writers they did a great job and need to keep bringing back Tyrus because he was outstanding.
His casual attitude and ZFG approach was the perfect offset to the white house press corp. It would be awesome to see Tyrus tackle other roles because he seems to be able to wrap himself around a character very well. When his wrestling career is over he might need to look into sketch comedy and transition to film. Imagine a buddy comedy with Brodus Clay and the youngest son from The Middle? That would be outstanding.
