The Hardy Boyz are back in WWE. But they were graciously allowed to fulfill all of their indie obligations. The Hardy Boyz finished up their final indie date at the House Of Hardcore show on 4/22/17.
During the show, The Hardys faced the team of Tommy Dreamer and Bubba Ray Dudley. There was some thought The Hardys wouldn’t be showing up. They had to toss the Spirit Squad out of the ring and started the match. The House Of Hardcore was on fire for this one. It goes without saying each team was over as they all had the respect of this passionate crowd.
Each team gave all they could for the packed house of fans. They were on fire for the Hardys with tons of “delete” and “f— that owl” chants throughout the match.
The Hardy Boyz came out on top to conclude their run in the indies in style. Jeff hit a Swanton Bomb at the end of a match full of high spots and hardcore action to get the win.
After the match, everybody hugged it out. The Hardy Boyz have certainly been on a brilliant and broken trip that brought them back to WWE.
After the match, Bubba Ray Dudley got on the microphone and told the Hardy Boyz that they stole the show at WrestleMania 33. Bubba Ray reiterated his point by saying the Hardy Boyz stole the “motherf—— show at WrestleMania” and you can see Tommy Dreamer motion to someone in the front row that they need to cover their ears. That was a funny piece of business.
They were obviously proud of the Hardy Boyz. But, Bubba Ray followed it up by saying The Hardys stealing the show at Mania was cool, but it will never be as cool as the House Of Hardcore. It was a really awesome moment and we’re lucky we able to see it.
