War Games Could Become An Annual Survivor Series Weekend Tradition

This year’s Survivor Series weekend started on Saturday night at NXT Takeover: War Games, where the company presented the first ever War Games match under the WWE banner as well as the first incarnation of the match in almost two decades.

The show upstaged the entire weekend and it seems that WWE executives were pleased with the way the match was presented as well as the reaction that the WWE Universe had to a match that was definitely considered a huge gamble on an NXT show.

Officials are so high on the match right now that CagesideSeats are reporting that the company could be set to make this an annual tradition as part of the Survivor Series weekend.

Considering Survivor Series is all about the elimination match and brand dominance, it seems that NXT could have their own annual version of an elimination style match inside War Games, which could be why WWE officials feel that this time of year is the perfect time to include the match in WWE’s calendar.

The match definitely defied expectations and even though The Undisputed Era were the ones who came out on top in the match, Sanity, The Authors of Pain and Roderick Strong all played their part in making sure the match followed through on the hype that the build-up had already delivered.
