This week on WWE Monday Night Raw Aleister Black and Rey Mysterio teamed up to face off against Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy and Black and Mysterio got the win via disqualification.
The match came to an end when Rey Mysterio was going for a 619 on Murphy, but Seth Rollins grabbed Mysterio’s legs from the outside and slammed him into the floor. The referee then called for the bell.
Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that one of Vince McMahon’s rules is that the illegal man can’t attack the legal man on the other team, which is why Rollins was disqualified for attack Rey Mysterio.
The one exception to this rule is when the illegal man is breaking up a pin.
Also when a legal tag is made both competitors can attack the opposing team’s competitor for only five seconds.
The legal man is allowed to hit the illegal man on the opposing team, even though the illegal man can not touch the person who is legal. Both illegal competitors can hit each other.
Vince McMahon is said to be adamant about this rule, and talents have had to nix spots in the past because of it.
