Survivor Series aired Sunday night on the WWE Network, and Kevin Owens appeared on both the kickoff show, and the main show. Owens teamed up with Sami Zayn to take on Breezango on the kickoff show, and the duo later interfered in the main event.

Immediately after Survivor Series, the Kevin Owens 365 special aired on WWE Network, and it featured some pretty revealing behind the scenes footage which focused on the past year of Kevin Owens’ career.

Owens was very open and honest in regards to how he felt about his position in the company, and during his Universal Championship reign he seemed to be quite proud. But after he dropped the title he expressed some frustration with his spot heading into WrestleMania 33.

At WrestleMania 33, Kevin Owens challenged Chris Jericho for the belt, and it seemed to be a good moment for his career, as he defeated Jericho and won the US Championship.

But behind the scenes it was a very different story.

Owens was approached by cameras right after the match, and he looked clearly frustrated and he said that the match just wasn’t what he wanted it to be, and that he felt disappointed.

The new United States Champion then went to approach Vince McMahon in the Gorilla Position, and asked Vince, “Are we good?” McMahon responded by letting him know he wasn’t happy with the match by saying, “no.”

Owens then spoke openly about WrestleMania saying that he felt the match was a failure since it wasn’t what Vince McMahon wanted it to be, and it wasn’t what the show needed. Later in the documentary Owens referred to the match as a career low.

It just goes to show that even though some moments look good on TV, an entirely different scenario could be playing out backstage.

Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens was considered by many fans to be one of the better matches on the WrestleMania card, but it doesn’t sound like Kevin Owens or Vince McMahon felt the same way.

One thing that was very clear during the documentary is that Kevin Owens is pretty hard on himself, but the special does end on a happy note, so if you’re a KO fan then it’s definitely worth checking out.
