Quite a few WWE Superstars were released this week including Mace and Mansoor. Now that Mace and Mansoor are gone the Maximum Male Models stable is no more, but they shared some interesting details regarding how the gimmick came together on Twitch after they were released.
During the Twitch stream Mace and Mansoor talked about how they thought the Maximum Male Models gimmick could be their ticket to stardom because it was Vince McMahon’s baby. For this reason Mace and Mansoor were trying to make an effort to deliver and Mansoor noted that at one point it was indicated to him that he should be hitting the gym more.
“We have the match, we go back up to the locker room, and the producer comes in the room, and he says, ‘Guys, Vince saw the match. Nobody knows how to sell.’ And then he looks right at me, ‘And nobody looks like they’ve gone to the gym.’
“And I was like, ‘Oh, no!’ So… I lost the weight. I went back to 180, I was slender… I got a little slimmer.”
Mansoor also noted that they were told Vince McMahon had wanted to do the male model gimmick for eight months, but it seems that plans for the group changed after Triple H took over creative last summer.
Stay tuned for more updates on Mace and Mansoor as they become available.
