Triple H has had an interesting career, that’s for sure. He’s gone from the bottom of the card, to becoming one of the most powerful people in the entire professional wrestling industry. Triple H has always had an interest in what goes on backstage in WWE, and his life changed big time when he married Stephanie McMahon.

Vince McMahon and Triple H are now family by marriage, and Triple H has headlined many WWE events throughout his career. However, on a recent episode of his podcast Something To Wrestle With Bruce Prichard, Bruce noted that Vince used to think Hunter was nothing more than a midcarder (via Wrestling Inc).
“I do remember Corny and Vince McMahon saying that Triple H would be a midcard guy at best early on in his [pro wrestling] career and Russo was a huge proponent of Triple H. And I dare say that without Russo at the helm at the time, Hunter probably would not have gotten the breaks that he got at the time.”
Hunter obviously went on to become WWE World Champion and one of the biggest names in the industry, and Prichard also added that Vince Russo was his biggest advocate.
“Yeah, [Russo was Triple H’s biggest advocate at the time] and then Vince McMahon became, but Hunter was one of those guys who was always around, always asking questions, and wanting to be a part of whatever he could do to learn. I liked Hunter because I always liked his attitude, just willing to do whatever it took to learn the [pro wrestling] business, but Russo was definitely pushing Hunter and had an awful lot of ideas for him.”
