Over the past few years several stars have managed to break into the main event scene, but in order to get opportunities at the top of WWE, you need to impress Vince McMahon on some level.
It looks like one SmackDown Live star could potentially be in line for a renewed push, as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Vince McMahon is still high up on Baron Corbin and sees him as someone who could be a major player.
Corbin seemed to be receiving a steady push after he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and he then went on to win the Money in the Bank briefcase.
However, it’s also worth noting that the idea was to push Corbin coming out of WrestleMania last year, but WWE officials didn’t pull the trigger, and his push seemed to slow down when he failed to win the WWE Title after he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.
Corbin has been holding things down in the midcard ever since, but it’s rumored that he could be getting a WWE Title shot in a few weeks.
Do you think Baron Corbin has what it takes to be a major player in WWE? Sound off in the comments below.
