When it comes to WWE programming this week most of the focus was on the big Raw reunion show on Monday night. SmackDown Live helped to put a few more pieces in place for the SummerSlam card, but plans for the show reportedly changed.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the SmackDown episode that made it to TV was completely different than what was original written for the show.
Vince McMahon reportedly showed up around 4 in the afternoon on Tuesday and decided that he didn’t like the show, so the show was rewritten.
It’s being reported that McMahon made several changes to SmackDown which is why Daniel Bryan’s career altering announcement wasn’t part of the show, and why Shawn Michaels ended appearing on Miz TV when he was originally advertised to do commentary.
