2020 has been an interesting year for WWE, as the year allowed some new names to step into the spotlight on Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown.
Matt Riddle was finally called up to the main roster this year, and he was officially sent to Monday Night Raw in the draft a few months ago.
Riddle was certainly making a name for himself in NXT, but fans are still hoping for more from his main roster run. Everyone knows that in order to make it to the top of the card you have to impress Vince McMahon, and it appears that there’s a bit of a disconnect for McMahon when it comes to Riddle’s gimmick.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Vince McMahon doesn’t get “the bro thing.” However, Vince does think that Riddle is funny.
“He just doesn’t get the bro thing, but he thinks he’s funny ‘so we gotta keep him on TV.’”
It’s not exactly clear where Riddle will go from here, but at the very least it seems that Vince McMahon plans to continue giving the former NXT star TV time.
