It was officially announced on Monday that Endeavor would be buying WWE and Vince McMahon was once again out in the public eye as he appeared on CNBC. When asked if he would be getting involved in creative Vince said “yes and no” and that he wouldn’t be “in the weeds.”
Vince McMahon was recently on location for SmackDown, the Hall of Fame induction ceremony and WrestleMania and PWInsider reports that Vince was personally and heavily involved with this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. About 15-20 minutes before Raw went live a number of late rewrites were made that were described as not feeling like the type of changes talent have come to expect under Triple H.
Changes to the show continued to be made well into Raw being on the air and it’s being said that they came directly from Vince McMahon who had his own office at Raw.
Multiple sources said that there was no doubt Vince McMahon was back in charge at Raw following the Endeavor announcement. The night reportedly started out with Triple H on headsets running the show, but McMahon became more and more involved as the show went on as the point person running Raw. Vince was reportedly at the Gorilla position overseeing the tapings for most of Raw.
There was a huge negative shift in morale among talent as they realized things were going back to “exactly where they were” before Triple H took over creative. One person went as far as to say that the “place felt nuked.” The feeling was that going forward Vince would likely end up overseeing everything again, but it’s not confirmed that things will play out that way.
