Vince McMahon Had To Be Restrained From Interrupting Iconic WWE Segment

Over the years WWE has given fans plenty of interesting segments to talk about. In September of 1999 a segment known as “This Is Your Life” aired live on Raw which featured Mick Foley bringing out some interesting names from The Rock’s past.

The segment is still talk about to this day, but Mick Foley recently explained on Foley Is Pod that Vince McMahon wasn’t thrilled about the segment as it was happening.

“I did not know how much Vince hated it, I really didn’t, but Vince Russo said later that Vince had to be restrained or talked out of going out there and getting it to stop because it was running for so long and it was a trainwreck unfolding in real-time if you go back and watch it.”

In the end “This Is Your Life” turned out to be a major hit as it was one of the highest rated Raw segments of all time. Due to the high ratings Vince McMahon gave Mick Foley more creative freedom.

“I do remember him saying ‘Alright! You can do whatever you want from now on!’ And so we had carte blanche to do whatever we wanted, we took advantage of that.”
